Cousins ​​signed a four-year, $180 million deal with $100 million guaranteed with the Falcons this offseason, ahead of the 36-year-old quarterback’s first game since recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered midway through last season with the Minnesota Vikings. 

“I feel like Kirk is healthy. He’s been healthy since he’s been here, since he’s been back,” Morris said of Cousins, who underperformed in his first game as the Falcons’ first fullback. 

Cousins ​​didn’t participate in the Falcons’ preseason games, but the 36-year-old quarterback was not limited in training camp. However, Cousins ​​appeared to be unstable and at times couldn’t get into the pocket with his dominant leg, completing 16-of-26 passes for 155 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for a 59.0 rating. 

Asked if Cousins’ health would affect his play-calling, Morris said, “It all depends on the game plan situation, who you’re going to play.”
