 Gardner Minshew suffered a fractured left collarbone in the final quarter of a loss to the Denver Broncos, effectively ending the 28-year-old Blackhawks’ season.

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce confirmed Gardner Minshew is officially out for the season after the 28-year-old quarterback fractured his left collarbone in Sunday’s 29-19 loss to the Denver Broncos, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

“Left shoulder. We’ll know more, but it doesn’t look good,” Pierce said of the injury after the game, before the Pirates confirmed the 28-year-old quarterback was officially out for the season.

Minshew suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter while being tackled by Broncos wide receivers Cody Barton and Jonathan Cooper, and his left shoulder was further injured by Barton’s weight. He left the game having completed 25 of 42 passes for 230 yards, one touchdown and one interception. 

The Raiders brought on 25-year-old backup Desmond Ridder in place of Minshew and fumbled on his second snap, and on the next possession, they were able to get the Red Zone in front of the goal but failed to score as time expired after he was sacked.

Ridder is reportedly set to start in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs on Black Friday, as Aidan O’Connell is still out for four to six weeks with a right thumb injury.
