Milan used Samuel Chukwueze, Rafael Leao and Tammy Abraham in attack and took a 1-0 lead over Sassuolo after 12 minutes. Tijani Reinders crossed for Samuel Chukwueze, who hit the post with his first shot but was able to follow up and score.
Five minutes later, Milan extended their lead to 2-0. Monza failed to clear the ball and Tijani Reinders swung home from the edge of the area.
Midway through the first half, Milan scored two more goals through Samuel Chukwueze, who scored his second in the 21st minute, and Rafael Leao, who added another two minutes later, to make it 4-0 at half-time.
In the second half, Milan made four substitutions after taking a big lead, but they were the better team and scored a goal to extend the lead to 5-0 through Davide Calabria in the 56th minute.
Sassuolo pulled one back three minutes later through Samuele Mulattieri, but Tammy Abraham fired Milan back to 6-1.
Then the game ended with AC Milan beating Monza 6-1 at home and successfully winning a ticket to the quarter-finals.
In the other match, Bologna opened their home field and shot Monza 4-0 with goals from Tommaso Pobega in the 32nd minute, Riccardo Orsolini in the 35th minute, Benjamin Domiguez in the 63rd minute and finally from Santiago Castro in the 76th minute. ( vox888 )
