Ahead of Saturday’s game, Dibling also impressed in Southampton’s 3-0 home Premier League defeat to Manchester United last weekend, with reports suggesting Erik ten Hag’s side are interested in the 18-year-old England Under-19 winger.
“When you’re 18 and playing in the Premier League at the level he is, I think probably every club in the world is looking at him. He’s our player. The club has rejected every offer since I’ve been here.”
“He came off the pitch and wasn’t enjoying what he was doing, so he came back. I think he understands that we all want to get the best out of him. We have to make sure he enjoys the game and we play in a way that he can really grow and progress.”
“The speculation (transfer) is not important for him or me. We are in a good position. I am sure we will look at that (extension) and make it more solid because if he keeps doing what he is doing, he deserves it.”
Dibling left Southampton to join Chelsea in 2022 but returned after just two months and is currently contracted to St Mary’s Stadium until June 2026.
