The Daily Mail reported on Saturday that Manchester United are planning to make contact with Mendes to help Ruben Amorim, with the pair previously working together at Sporting Lisbon.

However, on Sunday evening, Romano dashed the hopes of Red Devils fans after reporting that PSG were close to agreeing a new contract with Mendes until mid-2029. 

Paris Saint-Germain’s plan is clear to keep Mendes at the club, especially with the coach and management team very fond of the Portuguese full-back.

Although his current contract is set to expire in mid-2026, which has led to reports of interest from Manchester United, PSG are unfazed and are set to conclude Mendes’ deal soon.

He is another full-back who is about to commit his future to PSG after it was previously reported that Achraf Hakimi had agreed to a new contract as well. ( vox888 )
