Sky Sports, a British media outlet, reported that Coventry City specifically selected Lampard as the new head coach and now it is understood that both parties have reached an agreement in principle, leaving only discussions on the details.
Lampard has been the frontrunner to become Coventry’s new head coach since last week, with talks continuing to progress, and it is believed the England international wants a number of his backroom staff to join him.
The 46-year-old has experience of managing Derby County in the Championship before taking charge of Chelsea in the Premier League in 2019, but failed to make an
impact, as well as having spells at Everton and returning to manage the Blues on an interim basis.
Coventry decided to sack Mark Robins on November 7, at the time in 17th place, and the current position in the table has not changed. ( pgzen )
