The Rams recently signed Matthew Staffard to a new starting quarterback contract, before head coach Sean McVay confirmed via the media that he wants to bring Garappolo, 33, back to the backup role in the 2025 season.
Garappolo was suspended for two games in the 2024 season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He played in just one game with the Rams in Week 18, completing 27-of-41 passes (65.9 percent) for 334 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a 25-30 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Garappolo’s 11-season career with the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and Rams combined for 15,828 yards, 96 touchdowns and 52 interceptions in 82 games (64 starts). ( kuiper999 )
