Sky Sports Germany reports that Real Madrid are likely to part ways with Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season and have already made contact with Alonso’s agent, Bayer Leverkusen manager Alonso.
Alonso has reportedly been identified as Ancelotti’s replacement since last year, but the former Spain midfielder is keen to stay on at Bayer Leverkusen for another season, meaning Real Madrid have put their plans on hold.
Real Madrid had originally planned to look for Ancelotti’s replacement after the end of the 2025-26 season, in accordance with the Italian coach’s current contract.
