Philip Rivers, the 35-year-old quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, confirmed that he doesn’t plan to play until he’s 45, or in the next 10 years, after New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady set a target to play until that age. Kodma168
“I don’t have a number in mind,” Rivers said of how long he plans to play. “I can tell you right now, it’s not going to be 45. I have no desire to play that long. I hope I’ll be helping my son’s high school team win the state championship by the time I’m 45. I don’t think I’ll be wearing a helmet when I’m 45.”
The Chargers drafted Rivers with the fourth overall pick in the 2004 draft, around the same age as Eli Manning, who was drafted by the New York Giants with the first overall pick that same year. He’s been the Chargers’ quarterback from 2006 to the present. ( Kodma168 )
