The Bills couldn’t stop Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and lost to the Ravens 35-10 in Week 4 after Henry ran for an 87-yard touchdown on his first touch and had a combined 199 yards rushing in the game. McDermott made up for it by sealing Henry’s spot with just 16 carries for 84 yards.
‘Our team has heard this all week,’ McDermott said. ‘We’re not big enough, we’re not fast enough, we’re not strong enough, we’re not talented enough.’
The defense limited Henry to 21 yards rushing on eight carries in the first half before the veteran running back started to make his mark in the second half, helping drive an 80-yard drive that ended with a 5-yard scoring run on five carries for 46 yards during that possession.
McDermott was proud of his team’s effort, not only in stopping Henry, but also in defending the city’s honor after a Baltimore reporter called Buffalo a “loser’s city” in 2020.
