The Denver Broncos confirmed the release of veteran running back Melvin Gordon, 29, on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. ( Kodma168 )
The Broncos brought Gordon back on a one-year deal in April, but the 29-year-old running back has been prone to mistakes, most recently a fumble near the goal line that denied the Broncos a touchdown in the first half of Sunday’s 16-22 overtime loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. It was Gordon’s fifth fumble of the season, leading to two losses.
“I was really upset about it,” Gordon said of his mistake after the game. “I shot myself in the foot and I’m a little disappointed. I felt it today.”
