The New York Knicks have agreed to add Mark Bryant, 59, to their coaching staff after signing head coach Tom Thibodeau to a contract extension through 2028, according to the New York Post. ( wilson88 )
Bryant had a 15-year NBA career before retiring in 2003. He began his coaching career with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2004-05 season, followed by stints with the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons last season before moving to the Knicks this offseason.
The Knicks’ hiring of Bryant will bring 15 years of experience as a player and 19 as an assistant coach to Thibodeau’s team, particularly in developing players like DeAndre Ayton in Phoenix and Steven Adams in Oklahoma City, as well as Brian Hill and Dwight Howard during their early careers in Orlando.
