The 2023 Defensive Player of the Year was injured while trying to block Dyson Daniels’ inside layup. Jaren landed badly and was forced to leave the game and never return. 

The 25-year-old has had a breakout season, averaging career-best 22.7 points and steals (1.3), while also averaging 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists. 

The Michigan State University product is the only Grizzlies player to make the 2025 All-Star team, his second. 

Memphis’ combined injury history this season (261 games) is second only to the Charlotte Hornets (281 games) and Brooklyn Nets (312 games). 

The team has lost 3 games in a row but is still 4th in the West 38-23. They will meet the leader, Oklahoma City Thunder, this Wednesday.
