kindee1688 Former New England Patriots 2024 sixth-round draft pick Joe Milton will be part of the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback room.
The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with the New England Patriots to send a fifth-round draft pick (No. 171) in a trade for Joe Milton and a seventh-round draft pick (No. 217) to bring in the 25-year-old quarterback to back up Dak Prescott, ESPN reports. kindee1688
The Cowboys are in need of another backup quarterback after Cooper Rush signed a two-year, $4.2 million guaranteed deal with the Baltimore Ravens, while target Jacoby Brissett ended up with the Arizona Cardinals and there is interest in Drew Lock, who played with the New York Giants last season.
Milton, a sixth-round draft pick in the 2024 class, started for the Patriots in a win over the Buffalo Bills last season, completing 22 of 29 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown and another run. The 25-year-old will join Prescott and Will Greer as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
Prescott, meanwhile, is recovering from surgery to repair a torn hamstring injury he suffered midseason against the Atlanta Falcons and is progressing well, but the Cowboys are expected to limit him this offseason. ( kindee1688 )
