Head coach Dan Campbell is confident the Detroit Lions will come back stronger after the No. 1 seed in the NFC was knocked out of the Divisional Playoffs by a home loss to the Washington Commanders, ESPN reported. kindee1688

‘I know them well, (the loss) just ate them up,’ Campbell said. ‘I know a lot of good guys, they’re our players for a reason and that’s what keeps me hopeful and keeps me knowing we’re only going to get better.’

‘We will come back stronger, we will learn from this, and it just adds more fuel to the fire.’

Despite the mixed emotions after the 31-45 loss to the Commanders, Campbell said he definitely feels the Lions’ Super Bowl is still wide open.

‘Yeah, I feel that way,’ Campbell said. ‘We talked about that core, that core group is still there and we’ve signed some guys, some guys are out of contract and they’re going to continue, but yeah, we definitely can.’

‘I think the most important thing is you want to know you have a culture, you have an identity and you have the right players for that, and we have players in every key position that you could ask for to be successful and they are built right, so our opportunities are definitely open.’

However, the Lions are likely to lose both their offensive and defensive coordinators this offseason, with Ben Johnson accepting the Chicago Bears head coach job and Aaron Glenn also set to become the new head coach of the New York Jets. 

Campbell addressed the issue, saying they need to fill in and find the next person, and he plans with the team to evaluate future options both internally and externally. 

‘Does it hurt to lose those people? Of course they are a part of what we do. They have been here for four years and are one of the main reasons we are here.’

‘We came out of a slump and got to this point, so I will always be grateful to those guys and our team will be grateful too. And is this a loss? Of course it is a loss, but we have to move forward. This train is moving forward and I will find the next best person for us.’ ( kindee1688 )
