Liverpool are hopeful the 26-year-old is not suffering a serious injury and the substitution is aimed at limiting the muscular injury.
Alexander-Arnold has now been confirmed to be out for two weeks and has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of the Three Lions’ Nations League clashes with Greece and Ireland.
Alexander-Arnold already has fitness issues after picking up an injury during the international break.
That leaves England with just Kyle Walker and Rico Lewis as their only two right-backs in the squad.
There are concerns Alexander-Arnold may not be able to return in time for club action when Premier League leaders Liverpool travel to Southampton on November 24. ( thaisiambet )
