Marinabays Arsenal head coach Miguel Arteta said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Newcastle on November 2 that Gabriel Magalhaes is a target for him, but that it is too soon for Riccardo Calafiori or midfielder Martin Ødegaard.Marinabays 

Gabriel was injured in the 2-2 draw at Liverpool last week and will not be available for the Carabao Cup last-16 tie against Preston North End, who were 3-0 down. However, if he trains through Friday, Arteta will allow him to travel to Tyneside. 

“Yes, we have another training session on Friday. If Gabriel can finish training, he will be available,” Arteta said.

“He hasn’t practiced once this week, but if he can today, he will be in the group to compete.” 

“Calafiori (knee) and Odegaard (ankle) are definitely not ready.” 

“In the case of Ben White, I don’t know yet. He hasn’t practiced at all either. He hasn’t participated, he hasn’t trained. Let’s wait and see.”
