According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund are unlikely to face any obstacles in signing Gross, as they have already reached a verbal agreement with the player’s representatives. ( sunlit1688 )
Gross is reportedly 100 per cent committed to joining Borussia Dortmund in the 2024-25 season after talks and persuasion with Lars Ricken, Sebastian Kehl and Sven Mislintat, three figures in the club’s management.
The only remaining step is to agree a fee with Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, with Borussia Dortmund optimistic they can reach an agreement for between €8m and €10m.
For Gross, who joined Brighton from Ingolstadt in 2017 for £3m, he has been a regular for the Seagulls over the past seven seasons, playing a variety of roles including as a midfielder, winger, right-back and striker.
And surprisingly, the 33-year-old midfielder only made his senior Germany debut last year, having made eight appearances and scored one goal, four in 2023 and four in 2024.
