The Sun recently revealed that Newcastle’s staff were very impressed by the performances of the English-Portuguese star and are ready to make a move to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

His current deal with Lille only runs until the middle of next year, meaning English clubs are keen to keep a close eye on him, and if he rejects a new deal, they will be ready to negotiate a pre-contract in January.
