Diario AS journalist Santi Jimenez reported on Friday that Eric Garcia is not ready to feature in Sunday’s Catalunya derby against Espanyol in La Liga as the 24-year-old defender continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Eric Garcia suffered a hamstring injury in the warm-up ahead of the game against Sevilla on October 20, which ruled the 24-year-old out of that game and the following two games against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. 

Eric Garcia has reportedly only been training separately to build up his fitness, with Azulgrana coach Hansi Flick likely to rule him out of the squad for Sunday’s derby against Espanyol. 

The 24-year-old defender is expected to return to full training next week in time for either the Champions League trip to Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday, November 6 or the La Liga trip to Real Sociedad on Sunday, November 10. ( superwin636 )
