Leverkusen midfielder Alex Garcia is confident that Bayer Leverkusen will correct their mistakes and turn things around soon, Kicker reported on Wednesday.
Leverkusen started the season by winning three of their first four Bundesliga games, but have struggled to make it just one win in their last six games, including three draws, and currently trail leaders Bayern Munich by nine points after 10 games.
However, Alex Garcia, who joined from Girona in the summer for €18m, is confident Leverkusen will correct the missteps at the start of the season and turn things around soon.
‘We have to correct our mistakes, but the team is confident, we are definitely confident,’ the Spanish midfielder said.
With many players away on international duty, the latest 1-1 draw at bottom side Bochum has yet to be analysed. ‘When all the players come back from the international break, we will talk, we will try to correct these mistakes and I think Xavi (Alonso) is a good coach and will find a solution,’ said Alex Garcia.
‘We have to be strong mentally now,’ the 27-year-old added. ‘Of course, we are now nine points behind Bayern, but the season is long and I believe we can improve. We are a team with a lot of quality and will fight for every title.’
After the international break, Leverkusen will play at home against Heidenheim, St. Pauli and Freiburg, with away fixtures against Union Berlin and Augsburg to round off the year. ( superwin636 )
