gameintr88 Veteran wide receiver Evan Engram is set to be released by the Jacksonville Jaguars to reduce his salary cap gameintr88
The Jacksonville Jaguars have informed wide receiver Evan Engram that they will be releasing the 30-year-old wide receiver, as well as wide receiver Devin Duvernay and cornerback Ronald Darby, following the trade of wide receiver Christian Kirk to the Houston Texans, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Engram’s release came as a surprise after the 30-year-old was named to the Pro Bowl in 2023 after catching 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns, but he played in just nine games last season, catching 47 passes for 365 yards and one score due to a rotator cuff injury.
The move would save the Jaguars $15.48 million if Engram is released after June 1, on top of the $10.37 million they saved by trading Kirk.
Since James Gladstone took over as new general manager, he has been trying to quickly revamp the roster and lower the salary cap by releasing two high-paid players in Kirk and Engram.
