The Bergamo club have been pushing hard to strengthen their squad, but their offers have failed to convince their opponents, particularly in the case of Glasgow Celtic midfielder Matt O’Reilly.
In the case of Williams, it is still unknown whether Atalanta will return with a new offer, but Forest will have a clear stance that they do not want to let go of their key player unless they get a reasonable price.
The Wales full-back is contracted to Forest until mid-2026 and is now preparing for his first Premier League appearance of the 2024/25 season against Bournemouth next Saturday.
