Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, 22, has reiterated his intentions to leave the Blaugrana this summer amid speculation, telling RAC1 on Tuesday.
‘I have no intention of leaving or anything like that,’ Firmin said. ‘I am very happy at Barca, it is my dream and of course I want to stay.’
Despite fierce competition for places in midfield, the 22-year-old is positive: ‘It’s good and we all understand that.’
Asked about the links with 24-year-old Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, Firmin said: ‘I get on very well with him, he’s very good, but I don’t want to talk too much about it. We have to respect the goalkeepers we have, they are three very good goalkeepers.’
‘The club will decide on this. We know that names are always mentioned in the transfer market. I don’t want to get involved in these things.’
Firmin also admitted he felt slightly frustrated being a spectator at Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-0 drubbing of Inter Milan in the final after the Blaugrana were knocked out by the Nerazzurri in the semi-finals, and he is targeting to take Barcelona to new heights next season.
‘We won three major trophies and next year we will try to do even more. We know we set the bar very high and next year we will have to do the same or better.’
