The Dallas Cowboys secured their spot in the NFC East after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-20 on a Dak Prescott pass and run touchdown, with a fumble recovery for the team’s first touchdown of the season, ESPN reported Sunday.   cup1688

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott completed 20 of 25 passes for 161 yards, a touchdown and a 7-yard run for another score, while running back Ezekiel Elliott rushed 18 times for 85 yards. The Cowboys’ defense also scored another touchdown late in the first quarter after defensive end Randy Gregory fumbled Jameis Winston and linebacker Jaylon Smith recovered the fumble and ran for a 62-yard touchdown.

It was the Cowboys’ first fumble recovery touchdown since Anthony Spencer last did it on Dec. 28, 2014, nearly four years ago against the Washington Redskins, and the first touchdown this season by a Dallas defensive end. It was also the longest by a Cowboys receiver since Week 10 in 2010, when Brian McCann intercepted a pass and ran for a 101-yard touchdown against the New York Giants. 

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston completed 34 of 48 passes for 336 yards and a touchdown, but fumbled two passes, one of which was recovered for a touchdown by a Cowboys receiver.
