    Cucurella has a good relationship with Nico, with the player revealing that he tried to convince the Athletic Bilbao star to join him at Stamford Bridge. 

    “We didn’t do too much in the camp, we built a really good relationship with Nico and at the end of the day, these types of players need to feel comfortable and important,” Cucurella told The Athletic.

    “What I tell Nico all the time is he has to do what he can do, create what he has in his head, and I will watch his back or do what he wants me to do.”

    “I tell him every day that he should come to Chelsea, he will help us a lot! He will be very welcome and he knows it (laughs).”

    “But he’s still very young. He has to make his own decisions with his family, so it’s not the time to stuff things into his head.”
