cosmo365 Dak Prescott believes the Dallas Cowboys will thrive under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott says he’s excited to play for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and feels the Cowboys are close to achieving the same success as the Philadelphia Eagles, but there’s still a lot of work to do, NFL Network reports. cosmo365

“Excited for this opportunity,” Prescott said. “I’ve obviously worked with him for two or three years, understand the type of coach he is, what kind of person he is, how he approaches the game. I think the best way to set an example is the son of a legendary football coach. He doesn’t take anything for granted about the game. He enjoys working on the game. Pretty old-school. Looking forward to working hard and something that we’re going to do and he’s going to add to it. Excited for him. I know he’s ready for it.”

Prescott is likely a player who understands Schottenheimer, who has been the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator for the past two seasons. Although Mike McCarthy is the play-caller, Schottenheimer is also a key part of McCarthy’s offense. Prescott described the rapport between the two, which could serve them well into the future.

“Absolutely, it happened,” Prescott said. “I know he mentioned throwing an interception in practice and I gave it back to him, and you know, it was a great moment of understanding, and I appreciate that sense of standardization. We don’t just take one play at a time, but from my perspective, you know, ‘Where’s the risk vs. reward I’m getting?’

‘But that was a conversation that wasn’t pleasant at first, but it had to be had at some point and it happened right after practice. And it’s two grown men who understand and appreciate each other’s competition and standards. So I’m excited that things like that are growing, not just with me at quarterback, but at every position on that team.’

Prescott also talked about facing the reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles, saying, “I feel like we’ve competed with and beat them the majority of the time when we’ve played them. I don’t want to say ‘check the record’ when they’re holding the trophy right now. So credit to them, they deserve it and they deserve it in every way possible. But yeah, (we) got pretty close.” ( cosmo365 )
