Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has revealed he is dealing with a hamstring injury with no timeframe for his recovery, but the 31-year-old is confident he will be ready for the first game of the 2025 season, NFL Network reports. cosmo365

“I don’t have a timeline, but I’ll be ready for the first game and when it matters, and I’ll be ready,” Prescott said. “I feel good. I’m getting better. The last two weeks have been good and progressive for me.”

Meanwhile, new Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer was also pleased with Prescott’s recovery, saying, “He’s doing great, he’s recovering great, everything’s going well.” 

Prescott signed a four-year, $240 million deal before the 2024 season, earning an average of $60 million per year, becoming the league’s highest-paid quarterback. But he played in just the first eight games of the season, going 3-5 before suffering a serious hamstring injury that kept him out for much of the season. 

A partial rupture of the ligament was diagnosed and Prescott underwent surgery in mid-November with an expected recovery time of about three months, but the Cowboys are taking a cautious approach and not putting a time frame on the 31-year-old’s return. 

“I wouldn’t say I’m running full speed right now,” Prescott said. “But everything is going in the right direction and I’m excited.” 

“He and I are very close, we see the game in the same way, we will definitely make some improvements and there are some things he will really like,” Schottenheimer added.

‘I really think this is a player who without a doubt can win trophies. He can lead us to trophies. I think he can lead us to trophies. That’s the goal. And not just as a player. He’s an incredible player, but a different person and leader.’  ( cosmo365 )
