The Dallas Cowboys are considering internal candidates, with 51-year-old offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer set to be the new head coach to replace Mike McCarthy, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. cosmo365
Schottenheimer spent the past two seasons as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator after joining the organization in 2022 as the analytics coach.
Brian, the son of Marty Schottenheimer, has a wealth of experience as an assistant coach, starting as a quarterbacks coach for the Washington Redskins in 2001 under his father. He then moved on to the same position with the San Diego Chargers from 2002-2005 and then the New York Jets from 2006-2011.
Schottenheimer served as offensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams from 2012-14, then as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Georgia in 2015, before returning to the NFL as quarterbacks coach for the Indianapolis Colts from 2016-17 and then offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks from 2018-2000.
He then moved to the Jacksonville Jaguars as the passing game coordinator in 2021 before moving to the Cowboys and is set to become their new head coach soon. ( cosmo365 )
