pgzen Former England midfielder Joe Cole doesn’t see Antony turning things around at Manchester United, and says the player would fare better in other leagues. pgzen
The Brazilian has yet to start for the club in the Premier League this season but played the full 90 minutes of the 7-0 Carabao Cup rout of Barnsley, scoring from the penalty spot, but Cole does not see Antony resuming his career at the club.
“The problem with Antony at Manchester United is that I think he’s the perfect player for the Dutch league,” Cole told Paddy Power.
“I think the physicality in the Premier League is something he struggles with. He’s a very talented footballer, very technical and skilled. It was great to see him play against Barnsley.”
“But I don’t think he can make an impact in the United first team this season and I don’t think he can turn things around at the club.”
“With Antony, I think he’s playing to get out of the club and I think United are ready to let him go. He’s not an old player and he should ( pgzen ) be in his prime in the next few years, so I think he’d be better suited for another league.”
