biggame1688 Joe Burrow looks disheartened as Cincinnati Bengals start 3-game losing streak of 2024 season biggame1688
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is unhappy with the Tigers’ start to the 2024 season, losing their first three games, but believes their season is not over yet, NFL Network reports. ( biggame1688 )
The Bengals got off to a hot start when Burrow threw to wide receiver Ja’Mar Chase for a 41-yard touchdown in the first quarter, before the Commanders tied the game on a Brian Robinson Jr. run into the end zone for a one-yard score. But the Panthers swung their lead late in the first quarter when Evan McPherson missed a field goal.
‘We had a lot of chances, but we couldn’t make any of them,’ Burrow said. ‘We got stalled on some drives in the first half. That’s the common denominator in the first three weeks.’
Burrow completed 29-of-38 passes for 324 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions for a 127.5 rating, becoming just the second 2024 quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards and at least three touchdowns in a game, joining Carolina Panthers Andy Dalton. However, Burrow is the only other with 100+ passes and no interceptions.
After the game, Burrow walked into the coach’s office with head coach Zach Taylor instead of heading into the locker room, and the 27-year-old quarterback admitted to having a post-game conversation with the coach.
‘It was a positive conversation. We are not happy with the current situation, but the season is definitely not over. I will have to think critically about what kind of leader I want to be in the future, no matter what I feel the team needs from me.’
“We didn’t picture ourselves where we were, but we’re here now,” Taylor said. “It’s like a kick in the gut when you feel really good about the team and you start the season 0-3, but here we are now. We need to find a way to win next Sunday and get everything going in the right direction.”
The Bengals are on track to end their season 0-3 early, the most since 1990. Of the 162 teams that started the season 0-3, only four made the playoffs (2.5 percent), with only one team winning its division (1.2 percent) and no team reaching the Super Bowl.
