Postecoglou has had to endure chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” from angry fans when he replaced Wilson Odober and Lucas Bergvall with Brennan Johnson and Pape Sar at half-time at Stamford Bridge
in recent weeks. It is not the first time Postecoglou has faced the ire of fans disappointed with the Australian manager. In his second season in charge, Spurs are 14th in
the Premier League and have suffered their 16th defeat in 30 top-flight games at Chelsea. The
north Londoners are without a win in their last four league games and are in danger of ending the season in their worst finish since 15th in 1993-94.
But with speculation mounting that he could be sacked after back-to-back defeats, Postecoglou insists he can sleep soundly despite the criticism he has received.
“I am not worried. It is not the first time they have booed me,” he said.
“If the fans feel that way, if they feel I have not done my job well, they have the right to speak out. They have paid their money, they follow the club. They are the ones who will be with me for a long time after I am gone,” he said.
