Back on March 1, Mateta was knocked to the ground in the 10th minute after being hit by Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts with a kung-fu kick in the FA Cup fifth round.
The goalkeeper of the team from the Provincial Administrative Organization raised his boots to his head and jumped to kick the ball. The 27-year-old striker was able to beat the defender to win the ball and go one-on-one.
That saw the 30-year-old goalkeeper sent off and banned for six games, while the Frenchman was rushed to hospital to have stitches on a torn ear and undergo tests for a concussion.
Over the past four weeks, ‘JP’ has improved steadily, with Glassner ready to shake off the rust in the London derby match.
“Yes, he has been training with us for over two weeks now,” the Palace head coach said.
