The 26-year-old cornerback is due to enter the final year of his rookie contract, worth $9.069 million, which will be guaranteed for injuries before the start of the new calendar year. If he’s healthy, he could sign a short-term deal with a team for less than $9 million, which would leave Texans general manager Brian Gaine with the option to address the cornerback position through free agency or the draft.
