bgames666 Joe Chen confirms New York Giants are happy with current quarterback room after signing two veterans
New York Giants general manager Joe Chen said he is pleased with the quarterback room after signing veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason, meaning the Giants may not have to select a quarterback in the draft later this month, NFL Network reports. bgames666
“With those two signings, I think we put ourselves in a situation where I don’t think it was forced,” Shane said. “The two guys that we signed are playing a lot of ball. I think we improved that room compared to last year. I like the players that we have. Tommy (DeVito) is still out there and winning games for us. He’s still improving, so right now we’re happy with that room set up.”
Wilson and Winston both have experience playing as starters, but both are over 30. But the question for Shane and his team is whether any quarterbacks are worthy of the No. 3 overall pick on April 24.
‘I don’t know what other people are dealing with and how the other 31 teams view their boards,’ Shane said. ‘Yeah, if the value matches what we have in the players and there’s an opportunity to pick a position, we’re going to do it. (I) wouldn’t force it. If it’s not the right value, if the board is ready and we have time and that’s where we want to be, then we’re going to pick.’
‘You want a young franchise quarterback. I think every general manager wants that. Everyone wants that. But the value has to be right. If you make the wrong call, you try to make the right call.’ ( bgames666 )
