The Eagles reportedly release Slay after June 1, saving $4.3 million in 2025 as they look to keep the $13.8 million cap hit through June. 

Slay was a six-time Pro Bowl selection during his five years in Philadelphia, where he combined for nine interceptions, 56 pass breakups and 272 tackles. However, the strong performances of junior cornerbacks Quinion Mitchell and Cooper DeShaun led to Slay being relegated to the bench.

Slay has previously stated his intention to return for another season in 2025, with the expectation of continuing his career with Philly, but the 34-year-old cornerback also has another option: a return to the Detroit Lions, where he played the first seven years of his career. ( bgames666 )
