Real Betis sporting director Manuel Fajardo is in talks with Leeds United to sign 30-year-old centre-back Diego Llorente, following on from Marc Roca’s loan move from Leeds on a permanent basis, Marca reports on Saturday.
Llorente joined Leeds United from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2020. He spent last season on loan at Roma, but the Giallorossi did not exercise his option to make the deal permanent and sent the player back to Elland Road this summer.
As Real Betis look to strengthen their centre-back position following the loss of Chadi Read and Sokratis Papastathopoulos this summer, Betis had previously made an offer for Llorente, only for it to be rejected by the Peacocks, but Fajardo is continuing talks with the English club in an attempt to get a deal done.
Real Betis are believed to have reached an agreement with Leeds United and are expected to sign Llorente for around €4m, according to Marca. ( wintime999 )
