betflikth99 Cody Parkey, a blind kicker, is nearing the end of his time with the Chicago Bears as the Bears look to bring in a new kicker this offseason.
The Chicago Bears are eyeing up two experienced kickers, Nick Folk and Blair Walsh, to replace out-of-favour kicker Cody Parkey after a disappointing season, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday. betflikth99
The Bears are hoping to upgrade their kicker this offseason after Parkey repeatedly missed field goals and extra points last season, most notably a 43-yard field goal that hit the post and resulted in a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional playoffs. The 26-year-old addressed the mistake on TV, angering both general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy and threatening to end his career with the Bears.
‘That position is important for us,’ Pace said of the kicker position. ‘We understand that we have to get better, get more out of that position.’
The Bears are reportedly interested in Nick Folk, Blair Walsh, as well as former Kentucky punter Robbie Gould and Austin McGinnis, who attended last year’s training camp.
The 34-year-old has 11 years of NFL experience, having started his career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2007 before moving to the New York Jets from 2010-16. He most recently spent the 2017 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played in just four games.
Walsh, 29, played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2012-16 before moving to the Seattle Seahawks in 2017, while Gold Kane played for the Bears from 2005-15 and is set to become a free agent after leaving the San Francisco 49ers in March. ( betflikth99 )
