Osa Odikisuwa, a 26-year-old defensive tackle, is happy to sign a four-year, $80 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys ahead of the free-agent market, NFL Network reports.  berlin1688

“It’s awesome, you know what I mean?” Odikisuwa said. “I love Dallas, I love playing for this organization, I love being a Cowboy, so to get to do this for another four years and get paid a huge raise to do it,”

‘It’s not that I’m already dissatisfied with my job, but I have an even brighter smile on my face when I come to the building (every day).’

Odikisuwa wreaked havoc and tore through opposing defenses. He recorded 13.5 sacks over his first four years in Dallas and was rewarded with a four-year, $80 million contract with $58 million guaranteed, earning an average of $20 million per year, making him the league’s 15th-highest-paid defensive tackle. 

While Odikisuwa could make more money if he hits free agency or even gets the franchise tag, which would net him $25.12 million on a one-year deal, the 26-year-old wants long-term stability, and the Cowboys have granted his wishes. 

“Now I can look at my mom and think, ‘You don’t have to work anymore,'” Odikisuwa said. “That’s what it’s all about, you know? To be able to do that, it still means something. It doesn’t feel real now. I’m just absorbing it.” ( berlin1688 )
