The 27-year-old midfielder will be ruled out of domestic action until December 26, including the Premier League matches against Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea and the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United.
However, the former Juventus man is eligible to play in the Europa League.
During a media interview, Bentancur told a presenter who asked for a Spurs shirt: “Is it Sonny? He could be Sonny’s cousin, they all look alike.”
Bentancur later apologised to Son, who later denied any racist abuse, and took to social media to dismiss his comments as “joke.”
The Uruguayan has made 15 appearances for the club this season, scoring once in a shock 2-1 defeat at Ipswich Town on November 11. ( sunlit1688 )
