Watterson has spent the most time with one franchise in its history, having worked 32 years with the Houston Oilers in 1986, before the team’s current name was the Tennessee Titans. He decided to retire on Friday, with Tom Canavy, a 22-year NFL veteran including four with the Titans, set to take over as his successor.
“I’ve never spent as much time thinking about it as I do now,” Watterson said. “But as I was getting ready for the off-season, it became clear to me that it was time for me to step down and retire,” Watterson said. ( baconclub66 )
