Quin, a former fourth-round draft pick in the 2009 draft, began his career with the Texans before signing with the Lions in the summer of 2013. He started 96 regular-season games in his six-year career with Detroit before being released in February and deciding to retire on Tuesday.
“Playing professional sports has always been my dream. Football was the path I chose and God has blessed me to endure all the hardships and play for 10 years in the NFL,” Quinn wrote in a statement to ESPN. “I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to play in the NFL with great players and two great organizations.”
‘I wanted to use football as a base for the rest of my life and not let football be my life. I wanted to play for 10 years, so if I could walk off the pitch after my last game in 10 years, it would be difficult for me to walk back. I’m still young, I’m still strong and I’ve got a lot of life to live, so I made the decision to walk away from the game of football,’ Quin said. ( baconclub66 )
