baconclub66 Patrick Peterson retired from the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday to pursue a career in television.
Eight-time Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson insists he has no regrets about ending his 13-season playing career, although he could have continued playing, he just didn’t want to, NFL Network reports. baconclub66
Peterson enjoyed a stellar career during his first 10 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after entering the league as the fifth overall pick in the 2008 draft, earning eight Pro Bowl and three All-Pro honors. He moved to the Minnesota Vikings in 2021-22 before wrapping up his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023, where the 34-year-old is set to transition to television.
“I want to be behind the camera and be able to give my opinion, give my fans and viewers something that they might not know about the game,” Peterson said. “That’s what I want to do because I still love the game and I can still play it, but I don’t want to play it. Right now, I’m just having a good time, enjoying time with my family, playing golf with my friends, and continuing to travel.”
Peterson insisted he wanted to end his career as a Cardinals player, saying: ‘Don’t waste your time thinking about it. You know there’s a lot of things that have been said, and you know it’s not the best way to go. But at the end of the day, this is what I’m leaving behind. This is the beginning of my legacy.’
‘Me and (Cardinals owner) Mr. (Michael) Bidwill had a chance to talk about it beforehand, and like I said, it was a no-brainer because to be able to do some of the things that I’ve accomplished as an Arizona Cardinals player, there’s not a lot of people who get to do that.’
‘It’s like going to eight straight Pro Bowls, being a three-time All-Pro once as a special-teamer and being named to the 2010 All-Decade team. So my career is here. It’s here. So like I said, it was a no-brainer for me to come back here and stop playing for the Cardinals, which is where it all started.’ ( baconclub66 )
