baconclub66 Aidan Hutchinson has revealed he is making a good recovery since suffering a serious injury in October last year.
Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, 24, says his recovery process is nearing its end since he fractured his tibia and fibula against the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 13, NFL Network reports. baconclub66
“I’m here, I’m making sure I’m OK,” Hutchinson said. “I did my final evaluation when I got back. I’m going to go in today and I’m going to come back tomorrow for physical therapy. I’m going to get my evaluation done, and when I’m done, I’m going to go back to physical therapy. It’s a long process, I can tell you that.”
Hutchinson had a breakout season, recording 4.5 sacks in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before suffering a season-ending injury against the Cowboys just five games into the season. He had 7.5 sacks, 19 tackles, 17 QB hits, seven tackles for loss and one fumble.
“It feels like a long time,” Hutchinson said of his recovery. “It was tough at first, but it’s over now. Like we talked about before, you just appreciate your body. You appreciate not being in pain and running. I’m glad I got through that.”
‘People are loving the running video too. I didn’t think people would love it this much, but I got so many messages and so many people private messaged me. It’s been great. The support has been great.’
The recovery has given Hutchinson a new perspective that he will use in his future career, one that will make him a better teammate and player.
“This is the biggest injury I’ve ever had,” Hutchinson said. “When you get pulled out of the game, you love it. You want to come back. It’s natural. For me, it’s compassion for the people who get hurt in the NFL. Playing at a high level and then being pulled out of there.”
‘I’ve gained an understanding of another side of the game that I would never have understood if it weren’t for this injury, you know? That’s what I’ve really learned.’ ( baconclub66 )
