Atletico Madrid have decided to cancel the halftime show for Sunday’s Madrid derby, Relevo reported on Friday, after previously planning to host Mexican singer Danna Paula, who was set to perform her latest single ‘El Doble’ with Abraham Mateo, at the Civitas Metropolitano. 

The 29-year-old singer is promoting her latest single in Spain after rising to fame starring in Netflix drama Elite and appearing on popular talk show ‘La Revuelta’ alongside comedian David Broncano this week. 

Paula told Broncano that she is a huge Real Madrid fan and said she was excited to watch Los Blancos play for the first time, before making her prediction during Broncano’s closing segment that Los Blancos would win 2-1.

According to reports, after Paula’s comments were made public, Atletico Madrid decided to cancel the halftime show during Sunday’s Madrid derby match, as her comments may have upset some Atletico fans and could lead to unexpected incidents. ( pgzen )
