Sporting director Edu has transformed the Gunners from mid-table side to Premier League title contenders over the last couple of seasons, kodma168
but his time at the Emirates is coming to an end. Edu has
been in talks with the club’s hierarchy following a restructuring of key positions, and while the reasons for his departure are unclear, the Gunners midfielder from the Invincibles side of 2003/04 has decided to step back from behind the scenes.
Two-time Premier League champion Edu returned to north London in 2019 as technical director, helping Arteta offload superstars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil and bring in two current mainstays in Martin Ødegaard, William Saliba and Declan Rice.
As a result, Arteta’s team has finished second in the last two seasons, behind Manchester City. ( kodma168 )
