L.A. Chargers veteran linebacker Joey Bosa is optimistic about the Lightning under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, ready to prove himself again in the 2024 season, NFL Network reports. 123overr
Bosa has been a part of the Chargers’ good and bad sides throughout his eight-season career since entering the league as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 draft, but the 29-year-old linebacker is determined to change that ahead of the 2024 season.
“I just want to go out there and finally put those seasons together as a serious team,” Bosa said. “We had some good years, but I feel like we’ve got a lot more left in there than we’ve had in the last few years.”
From Bosa’s perspective, he’s been involved in two playoff appearances for the Chargers, in 2018 when they finished the regular season 12-4 and again in 2022 when they ended in the wild-card round after a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Those years started with high expectations but ultimately turned into disappointment, but now, under Harbaugh, Bosa sees a change in attitude for the better on the roster.
“I’m very excited. I can’t really pick what I’m positive about,” Bosa said. “I feel like we play with a lot of energy, and you saw that last weekend with the bench there. I think that will spread to everyone on the defense and the whole team. I’m very excited. The most positive thing I’m positive about is to see if what we feel is true and put it to the test.”
Bosa also revealed that he injured his hand during practice with the LA Rams on August 4 and had to undergo surgery, which will keep him out of practice for about three weeks, but he is feeling fine and can walk normally now.
‘Of course it’s unfortunate, but overall it’s not a big deal,’ Bosa said. ‘Like I said, the work I’ve done over the last few months has been a lot of practice. You don’t lose these things in two weeks.’
‘Back at least it’s a time to rest, less stress on the legs and let some things heal. Now I feel ready to go.’ ( 123overr )
