Darius Slay, 34, has said he has no ill feelings after being released by the Eagles but is open to a return to Philadelphia, NFL Network reports. ( 123over )

“It’s part of the business and I don’t feel bad about it,” Slay said. “I don’t have any regrets about it because this is what I signed up for. I know I gave everything I had to that team and everything I had to that organization, so there’s always the possibility that your kid comes back. It’s not always a throwaway line, but this time around, I’m just thankful that I can move forward in free agency if I find a good destination for myself.”

‘But hopefully you know we’ll see what the Eagles do. If the Eagles do something good, they know I want to come back. They know that, and I understand how the game is. Teams are getting younger. Teams want to save cap space because they’re paying younger players for their future. And that’s why I said no hard feelings.

However, Slay admitted that his age at 34 could be an obstacle for him to return, as the Eagles opt to use young cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeShaun. 

“I know I’m 34, I know I’m past my prime, but I’m still playing at a high level,” Slay said. “I know me and Howie (Roseman) had a good conversation and he said the same thing. It’s not like I can’t play, that’s just part of the business. He just said we’ll see how things go and we’ll do it.”

‘So he might turn the block back like he did the last time, and listen, he (turns) the block back, and a year, two years later he wins the Super Bowl, so you know what I’m saying? We’ll see.’
