Milan conceded an early goal in the first seven minutes before Lecce scored a second in the 59th minute, but the Rossoneri fought back and scored three goals in the 68th, 73rd and 81st minutes, with two from Pulisic, one of them from the penalty spot.
“This period is very difficult for us, so today’s victory is 100 percent important.”
“We are very united, we showed that today and it was a great response at this moment.”
Pulisic praised the team’s persistence, despite Santiago Jimenez and Matteo Gabbia disallowing goals in the first 15 minutes and two goals down after an hour of the game, but they came back to win.
“I think we went into the game with the desire to win,”
“After a terrible first half where we had two goals taken away, we worked as a team, we all believed and in the end we came back to win because we all gave it our all.” ( 123over )
