Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Barry has confirmed he will not trade star defensive end Miles Garrett this offseason and expects the 29-year-old to play with the organization until he retires, ESPN reports.  ( 123over )

‘Right, you can put it on record,’ Barry said when asked if he would consider trading Garrett for two first-round draft picks this offseason.

Garrett’s future in Cleveland has been the subject of speculation after he said he wanted to see the team’s offseason plans before deciding to stay with the organization, with the Browns finishing 3-14 this season, their worst season since 0-16 in 2017.

As Barry previously said, he expects Garrett to spend the rest of his career with the Browns, saying, “My expectation is he’ll go straight from Cleveland to Canton in his final years and I expect him to be here until he retires.”

The Browns general manager recently reiterated his statement, saying, “I think you can assume at some point we’re going to do a third deal with Miles. We want him to retire here.”

Garrett now has two years remaining on his five-year, $125 million contract signed in 2020, and the new deal would make him once again the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
